Shrink a large PDF so it is easier to send.

How to make a PDF smaller

  1. Choose a PDF file.
  2. Pick Smaller file, Balanced or Better quality, or type a target size in KB.
  3. Select Compress PDF and download the smaller file.

Common questions

Will the text stay selectable?

Yes in the default mode. Only the images inside the PDF are made smaller. The other mode turns pages into images, and text can no longer be selected.

What if my PDF is still too big?

Set a lower target size, or use the mode that converts pages to images.

Why didn't my PDF get smaller?

PDFs without large images are already small. Text and vector drawings cannot be shrunk much.
