By using PDF Safehouse you agree to these terms. They are short because the service is simple: free tools that run on your own device.
1. The service
PDF Safehouse provides free tools for working with PDF files. The tools run inside your web browser. Your files are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us. The service is free and has no account.
2. Your files and your responsibility
You are responsible for the files you use with the tools. Only use files that you own or have permission to change. In particular, only remove passwords or restrictions from documents you are allowed to unlock. Do not use the tools for anything illegal.
3. No guarantee
We work hard to make the tools reliable, but they are provided "as is", without any warranty. Conversions are not always perfect. For example, a PDF converted to Word may need some tidying. Always keep your original file and check the result before you rely on it.
4. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, PDF Safehouse and its team are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or the tools, including lost data or incorrect results.
5. Advertising, affiliate links and donations
To keep the tools free, the site may show ads provided by third parties, mainly Google. See the privacy page for how ads use cookies.
Some guides recommend products from other companies through affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those products are sold and supported by their own companies, under their own terms.
Donations are voluntary and do not unlock any features. Every tool is free for everyone.
6. Open-source parts
The tools are built with open-source libraries, including pdf-lib, PDF.js and JSZip, and fonts under the SIL Open Font License. Their licenses apply to those parts.
7. Changes
We may update these terms or change the tools. The latest version is always on this page.
